Matt Lome is an illustrative painter with a flair for storytelling. His folksy style is both literal and impressionistic, both realistic and whimsical. He uses his artwork to talk, play, and interact with his viewers. His paintings inspire discussion and therefore build relationships.

 

In addition to painting, Matt is also a fiction writer. His children's book, The Absolute Truth About Woodpeckers, won The Purple Dragonfly Book Award in 2022.

Matt, in addition to fiction writing, is also a performing and recording musician. His songs are both tongue-in-cheek and evocative, both catchy and poignant. His diverse style, while always "folksy," delves freely into rock, jazz, blues and country.
